Chic Basics

Basics can be très chic, too!

What I wore to work yesterday...

• Leopard print tank - Forever 21

• Oversized Chiffon blouse - American Apparel

• Dark denim skinnies - H&M

• Sandals - H&M 

• Red bag - Zara

Here's me looking like the ever-eager summer intern--hah!  Excuse the band-aid on my foot, I have a mysterious cut with seriously no idea on earth how it got there.  But anyway, these sandals are new!  They were only $17.95CAD or something like that--sooooo cheap, and so very comfy!  Words I would use to describe my personal style include comfort, simple, laid-back, creative and polished.  I can't stand being in clothing that looks messy, and I certainly can't stand the feeling of being not so put-together.  Not to worry though, I make up for this lack of messiness with my woodland-creature beast-like tangled mess of hair.  

To the point, though I have a girly love for bows, lace and all flowers, I still tend to stick to a lot of basics...I have a lot of things that are the same style.  All my bottoms are slim-fitting, and most of my tops are loose-fitting.  To give you a better example of what I mean by this...I have this chiffon blouse in 5 colours--haha.  Anyway, a lot of people think that basics are just things that everyone should have, but can't really be dressed up--like a good pair of jeans, or a plain white top.  Your basics don't have to be boring!  If you choose simple timeless basics that can go well with pretty much anything that is trending at the moment, I promise you elegance.  You will look pretty and polished!
