Happy New Year! We Made it to 2013!

Happy New Years Lovelies!  I know I haven't been posting RELIGIOUSLY, but what can I say...sometimes, life just gets in the way..ya know?  I feel like a ton of stuff (changes, mostly) have happened in this last month of the year, and I want to quickly share some of the more exciting stuff with you darlings!  

Above are just a few things I got for Christmas this year.  My lovely boyf got me a beautiful Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Tote in black.  This is the one that Michael Kors made specifically for Apple MacBook Pro, so unlike the usual Jet Set Travel Tote, this one has an additional laptop compartment in the middle -- I love it.  My boyf also got me an iPad mini!!  He even personlized it with "The Little Dandy" on the back, but I don't think that it's visible in these pics (btw I took all these photos with the iPad Mini...just testing it out..chya..).  The blush is from my Aunt, and it's a big deal to me because I've just started using (and loving) blushes.  Love!  (On a side note:  In the photo at bottom left, I used the e.l.f. studio brushes from my previous post to apply my makeup.  I am LOVING the brushes so far!)

MY FIRST GLOSSYBOX ARRIVED!!  If you remember from my post about beauty boxes, I assumed that all of my subscriptions would begin in January 2013 because I registered in December.  Well not for GLOSSYBOX!  I actually received this box on December 31st!  Just in time, eh?  Hehe.  I am super impressed with my first GLOSSYBOX!  So many full sized products!  What made me even more satisfied was that I received a lot of products that I've wanted to try (like the Tresemme Dry Shampoo, and the Aveeno Positively Ageless products).

I was a bit confused by this Avon liquid eyeshadow.  LIQUID eyeshadow?  Liquid?!  I was quite skeptical at first because it looked so watery in the tube, but after I swatched it, it dried very quickly and did not smudge afterwards.  However, it is not at all waterproof.  One wipe with water and it was gone.  I am excited to try it out though!

The last product I received was a full sized Revlon nail polish in Raisin Rage.  I'm not TOO crazy about the colour because it's a bit of a muted soft red, and I prefer my red polishes to be quite bright.  I've got it on my toes right now, and feel a bit like an old lady haha.

I also did some home decor'ing the other day!  I finally got a couch!  Yes...FINALLY!  I've been living in my new apartment for 3 months without a couch.  The owl bookends were a boxing week purchase ($10 from Indigo!), and I decided to get a little bit creative with a soup can and make a cute pen holder =).

Lastly, the thing that has been ailing me the MOST as of late.  I got 3 wisdom teeth removed on Thursday, and I am suffering haha.  Gorging on mush and stressing about gaping holes at the back of my mouth has been my life as of late.  Blah.  Can't wait to eat CHIPS again.  And burgers.  Fried chicken.  Even salad, for crissakes!

Hope you all had a wonderful time ringing in the New Year last night!  I stayed in and didn't treat myself to a nice dry martini because of my dang gaping-hole-in-gums-syndrome.  Blah.  

But anyway, what are you planning for the new year?  Is anyone making RESOLUTIONS?  Goals?  New lifestyle changes?  

I think I've been in a funk for the past couple of years.  2011 I was in a SERIOUS funk.  2012 was me slowly getting out of 'the funk'.  Now that it's 2013, I'm freaking sick of 'the funk', and I am SOOO over it.  I'm taking charge of my life.  Throwing away my (albeit) crappy lazy habits.  I want to change my life-- for the better.  I am sick of be obligated to do things that I do not want to do for the rest of my life.  We all deserve to do what we want with our lives if we work hard enough to get there, right?  I've been feeling this way for quite some time, and as cheesy as it sounds I got an extra boost of confidence from the horoscope in the GLOSSY Mag!  Haha.  My Leo horoscope for 2013 read:

There was way more to it, like a LOVE and BEAUTY section, but this stuck out to me the most.  This year, I am going to focus more on change, and moving up, up, up.  No more of this lazy floating around bizNAAAAZZZZZ.
